You
can discover amazing healing powers you have within
yourself through regular practice of Meditation and
mental imagery.
We all have the ability to banish a dreaded headache, or even a recurring
illness, addiction or disease.
Sick
of Being Sick?
Are you sick of being sick and tired?
Are you sick of your daily routine? Is it a grind?
Do you feel stuck in your relationship or your
job? Do you have little time for yourself? Do you
feel there are some areas of your life that are
so very hard? Once, my answers were 'yep' to all
of those questions. And I believed I just had to
deal with it. Yep, just had to deal with it! And
for the pain and un-wellness this was causing,
I medicated and pretended all was well. Underneath
it all I really felt as if I was furiously digging
myself deeper and deeper into a hole going nowhere.
Slipping deeper into exhaustion and un-wellness.
I didn't know how to stop digging. I didn't know
I could stop digging; I didn't know I could turn
around and climb out of the hole, until I began
Meditating.
Replace
Medications with Meditations
Over a period of time my meditations
replaced my medications. Through mental
imagery and meditation I learnt to travel
into my body and release my own tension,
pain, addictions and illnesses.
My first experience of this happened
quite naturally one morning as I was meditating,
watching my breath and relaxing my body. Sometimes
the more I relaxed my body the more intense any
pain or tension I was carrying became; this day
the pain was in my neck.
So I imagined myself as a little
person inside my body, inside my neck amongst the
nagging, aching pain. I felt intensely angry towards
it as I realised this pain was also zapping my
energy making me feel tired before my day had even
started. It looked like hardened wallpaper stuck
to my muscles and I wanted to peel it off, get
rid of it, so I did. Whilst I was peeling it away
I asked myself why is this here? The more I peeled
away the less pain and anger I felt.
My muscles relaxed and softened.
Then came a strong sense, a knowing as to what
I was doing in my daily life to create this pain,
this tension. This came as a relief as my pain
and tension completely subsided making it easier
to continue with my meditation, relaxing more deeply
into my peaceful paradise and stillness.
Keep
Practicing for Great Results
Not every time did this work but
often enough to know I had the skill to
achieve it, therefore often enough for
me to keep practicing until it became quick
and easy to release pain and tension.
It was during this imagery meditation I experienced real confirmation
I was truly creating my own physical un-wellness and I knew with positive
action I could achieve positive results.
I learnt that to stop the pain and tension recurring in my body I had
to act constructively on the area of my life that it was associated with.
I was learning so much more about myself.
I could see I had been increasing my stress and tension by pushing myself
to limits that weren't really my limits at all. I was so used to saying
yes when I really meant no, and responding to "How are you?" with "I'm
great thanks" when I really felt lousy. I began to see these were well-practiced
responses with no truths to them and I knew I was the only one who could
change that.
Understanding
and Acceptance
I was also learning that often in my mind
I would think I was worrying about a certain situation,
but when I went into it in a meditative state I
would see the churning inside my body or in my
mind was being caused by a totally different situation.
By understanding and accepting this, my courage
and conviction strengthened allowing me to make
small positive changes, over time leading to greater
positive changes.
Meditation can take you to the core of your real self; allowing you to
observe, feel and weed out old beliefs and habits replacing them with
a healthier, happier and positive belief system. Regular Meditation nurtures
and nourishes your belief system giving you the clarity and confirmation
required in making positive and productive choices for your life style
and well-being.
There are many great books on the
subject of meditation and there are many wonderfully
guided meditation CDs. To be guided into meditation
by a gentle voice sometimes makes the experience
much easier. It can take the worry of 'am I doing
it right?' "Am I where I should be? Once you have
the 'know how' it is much easier to do it on your
own.
